If you need even more room, the adjacent Carriage House can be reserved for an additional two to three guests. Relax in our luxury soaker tub, unwind in front of the rustic brick fireplace and breathe in the fresh sea air. Grill dinner under the covered deck or relax on the patio by the water featuring a built in stone and brick fireplace. The Rutherford House is conveniently located just 250 meters from the historic Halfmoon Bay General Store and the Upper Crust Deli and coffee bar. Cooper’s Green Park with beach, picnic areas and boat ramp is just a 15 minute walk down a quiet country lane. Boat rentals are available from nearby Buccaneer Marina in Secret Cove. Welcome to the Rutherford House!
The earliest record of the Rutherford House was a 1922 article in Pacific Yachting magazine. The cottage originally served as the local post office, sea plane dock, soda fountain and pool hall for Halfmoon Bay during the first half of the 20th century. The house has remained a Rutherford family treasure ever since. For the last three years, both the house and the grounds have undergone extensive restoration.
